Any student taking a driver's education course MUST obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit from the DMV. To get this TIP you must:
Minors (14 - 17) Bring to the DMV
Original or State Certified Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Original or Court Certified Custody Papers (if there are any)
Legal Custodial/Domiciliary Parent/Guardian with their Driver's License or State ID Card
Adults (18+) Bring to the DMV
Original or State Certified Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Proof of Residence (Two if applying for Real ID)
